Architect Md. Nafizur Rahman is Currently working at Housing and Building Research Institute as Principal  Research Officer. Recently was working at Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) as  Deputy Director (Energy Audit & Accreditation) and Solar  from 17 May 2015. Before Joining SREDA, he also worked at Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI) as Senior Research Architect and conducted several research on Climate Change and Eco-Housing (energy efficient and environment-friendly housing) and Energy-efficient Building Materials development. He worked in the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC)-2020 update program and was involved as a National steering committee member and editor of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability chapter of BNBC. He was the focal point of the Green Building Code development Project for Bangladesh (IFC and HBRI Project). Presently, Ar. Nafiz is closely working with the Department of Environment as an expert member of Environment Clearance Committee for the Dhaka Metropolitan Area. During his service carrier, he attended several seminars and workshops on Energy and Environment in many countries. After Joining SREDA he is involve with several energy efficiency activities of SREDA such as the Editorial committee member of EE&C Master plan up to 2030, Energy Audit Regulation. He participated in many energy audit in commercial, residential and industrial buildings. Mr. Rahman is one of the members of Project Implementation Team of JICA Energy Efficiency & Conservation Promotion Financing Project. He is assisting to National Focal Point Officer of GIZ-SREDA REEEP Program. He is performing as the focal point officer of SREDA-EESL program also. Ar. Nafiz is the lead author of Building Energy Efficiency and Environment Rating (BEEER) System Guideline for Bangladesh, which is one of the major activities under the EE&C Master plan of SREDA. Ar. Md Nafizur Rahman did his Bachelor degree in Architecture from The University of Asia Pacific and Masters in Renewable Energy Technology at Institute of Energy, Dhaka University, Bangladesh. The Government awarded Ar. Nafiz as Best officer in Power sector at 2016 for his remarkable contribution in energy efficiency activities. He participated in International Exchange Program (IVLP-2018), Renewable Energy by the State Department of USA.
